Overview

Companies represent business entities such as LLCs and corporations.

The company object

In general, the Company object refers to a single business entity, formed in a single jurisdiction, that may operate in one or more jurisdictions. Creating a Company via the API doesn't form an official entity, but instead captures details about an existing entity or an entity you plan to form. You can manage the metadata surrounding a Company at any time using the Companies APIs, or use it as input to other compliance primitives such as Registered Agent Addresses and State Filings.
