Create and Authorize a CMRA Address
Overview
You can use a new CMRA address to receive mail as soon as you create it. Before Stable can open and scan that mail, the address needs a completed USPS Form 1583. For more information on this process, refer to Address Authorization (USPS Form 1583).
The API steps to create CMRA locations are generally the same for all integrations. You'll create the address, submit officer information, upload IDs, and collect a signature.
Choose a recipe
| You are | The officer signing is | Use |
|---|---|---|
| A business managing your own addresses | You or someone at your company | Create and Onboard a New CMRA Location |
| Building a platform on top of Stable's features (see Stable for Platforms) | Your customer | Embed Address Authorization (USPS 1583) |
Your own addresses
Use Create and Onboard a New CMRA Location if you are authorizing addresses for your own business. The officer completes the form using Hosted address authorization. You send them a link to the form on Stable's dashboard to complete required onboarding.
Your customers' addresses
Use Embed Address Authorization (USPS 1583) if you are a platform partner creating addresses for your customers. Your UI collects their information and IDs. Your customers sign in a Stable form shown inside your application using white-labeled Embedded address authorization.
Embedded address authorization is available to Stable platform partners. To learn more, see Stable for Platforms or reach out to us: Support.
Other options
- Create a Registered Agent Location: Registered Agent addresses don't need USPS Form 1583.
